Comment: a quarter of the year over and there is still no break out hits on albums or singles, Lil Durk’s pretty good release has a measly 47K EAUs. The three albums still on the top ten are all from 2021 and the streaming numbers for everything are trouble. The music scene, which emerged from 2010’s EDM breakthrough in pop and UK drill on hip hop, is a mess and the scene is in decay. In 2022 there is no next big thing.
