Comment: Sure, pop always had a shelf life, and a short one at that, but this is ridiculous. Like an apocryphal insect, it only has 24 hours of life and then is gone forever. There is too much music to have a lasting impact anymore, it is hard to remember last week not last year, and websites like this become warehouses for barely remembered songs that flit and flutter and are then gone. The biggest stars in the world can not even last in the public consciousness for a news cycle. You don’t believe me?
