“Is this one of the lushest electro-pop Eps to come out of the year? It is.” – NYLON
“L.A.-based quartet Transviolet, who released their debut self-titled EP last September on Epic, make the kind of perfect electro-pop that melts in your ears” FADER
“Transviolet’s sinful video is made to haunt the viewer into awareness.” ONES TO WATCH
“Definitely a message for our times.” BLACKBOOK
“From start to finish, Kaleidoscopes twists and bends into something really special” – HILLYDILLY

Today, Los Angeles indie-pop group Transviolet has released a new video for their latest single Undo.” LADYGUNN debuted the beautifully colorful and chaotic video for the lead single from the band’s upcoming Valley EP, out September 21 on BMG.

Taking inspiration from a quote by author Cynthia Occelli – “for a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone” – frontwoman Sarah McTaggart explains the video’s vision: “The idea behind the video was destruction and transformation: how sometimes in order to create something new, everything needs to come apart, and how beauty can be found in that vulnerable chaos. I knew I wanted to take pretty, delicate things that represent purity and fragility and smash them into a million pieces. I was a little nervous, because I knew we’d only have one shot at capturing the destruction, and a finite amount of knick knacks to annihilate (I cleaned out almost every thrift store in LA to get them all), but Hunter Gulan, our Director of Photography and the crew was absolutely stellar, and caught every bit of it.”

The visuals compliment the track’s message of self-empowerment through this transformation, as McTaggart continues: “I’ve had my fair share of people try to categorize me, change me, break me down into pieces and parts they could more easily digest, or assign me an identity they were more comfortable with, but I won’t do it. I’m not your virgin. I’m not your whore. I’m a human with desires and emotions and experiences, and I refuse to be whittled down to anything less than that.”

Transviolet first gained notoriety after releasing their debut single, “Girls Your Age,” which currently has over 12 million streams. Their upward trajectory quickly gained traction earning praise from high profile fans such as Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding, and Harry Styles, touring with Mikky Ekko, Twenty One Pilots, and LANY, as well as performing on The Late Late Show with James Corden (twice), The Today Show, MTV, Billboard and Rolling Stone. They have accrued over 50 million streams across all major platforms

Over the course of its illustrious career, Transviolet has created sonically and lyrically captivating music that can offer something to music-listeners of all kinds. The group recently released the kaleidoscopic “Bad Intentions” video and wrapped up a US tour. Stay tuned for more news on Transviolet and the Valley EP coming soon!
