The World Series: Kansas City outlast the Mets after a five and a half hour loss that the Mets gift wrapped with two errors and a blown safe from a man who doesn’t blow many saves. Hand it to Kansas City who held with them pitch for pitch, took advantage of mistakes, and then got to the Pen where they beat em. Oh, and FOX had tech difficulties in the fourth and went black. All I want is the Mets to get to win Game Two and secure my Game Five… the joys of not caring, right?
Recorded: Here we go, and early hush time this week. I am listening to Big Sean’s latest which absolutely sounds better than I recall, “I’m from the D, fuck your A list…” woah, there you go.
Live: You know who I would like to see on stage tonight? Warren Zevon. I only saw him once but it was the smart and cool Warren in Webster Hall, and he performed a great set of hits. How does that air conditioner hum again?
Politics: Paul D. Ryan is set to be voted in as the House Speaker this week, and, while I have no affection for the man, that is some job he has going for himself. The GOP stuck between a hard place and a hard right, should be shooting themselves in the foot next year.
Death: Peter Dougherty, an MTV stalwart who helped develop the music TV network’s influential hip-hop show Yo! MTV Raps, died from a heart attack on Oct. 12. He was 59.
