These Days: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

The Race For The Presidency: Donald Trump’s problem is that you can’t attack everybody at the same time, you need people in power on your side. He is like Napoleon or Hitler, his war is on too many borders. And while the claim that the DNC, or the GOP, will falsify results, is untrue, the chances are excellent that the power of the 1% will (is) crushing down on him. Whether Trump brings it on himself or not, it is three card monte with freedom. It is such a pity Trump isn’t a man I can support, it would be the sound of freedom ringing if he won.

Recorded: Two more days till the new Frank Ocean finally drops, as eagerly awaited an album as you’ll find all year. It took me forever to warm up to Ocean, especially after a predictably iffy set at T5, but eventually I grew to love it. This is absolutely the one for the week.

Live: The Meadows first day is a disaster, why did they heavy Sunday so much at the expense of Saturday. The answer? Go to Bryant Park for day one, check out D’Angelo (if he actually makes it), and then Sunday at Citi Field. PS, in a perfect world, the Roots would move their own Sunday line up to Saturday instead.

Original Trauma: after actual birth, potty training is the first great trauma in our lives, it is where we figure out we are alone, if we screw up we’re in big trouble, and we better shit or get off the pot…

Bratton: I assume he left for the money, at some point the private sector can’t afford you.
