The State Of The Union: “The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth period … do not look to Beijing or Moscow to lead—they call us…” That’s what Obama said in January, 2016. So why is it so scared all the time? Why are we trying to make us great again when we remain the sole superpower, a huge, violent, dangerous country. And yes, the last man standing. Terrified by ISIS. The problem with the US is its citizens are being terrified, as if death by terrorists were an epidemic and not anomalie. Yes, people die because other people hate the States. They also die crossing the streets. That’s no excuse for becoming overwhelmed by fear every time you cross the road.
Immigration: “Nearly eight months since the administration launched an effort to admit 10,000 Syrian migrants, just over 2,500 have made it in.” There is something very weasley about the US and Immigration in 2016, I can’t take their concerns very seriously and every thing they say and do flies in the face of what is real in terrorism and the world.
Sports: The Warriors beat the Thunders and are off to the finals to take on the Cavs, Curry Vs Lebron for what should be one of the great NBA Finals…
Concerts: Tomorrow The Monkees! Friday begins Governors Ball. We are all excited beyond belief.
Recorded: When I read that Train were covering the entire Led Zeppelin II on their latest album, I expected the worse but let’s face facts here: this was the worst band covering one of the best. However, having heard the very good “Ramble On” which mixes soul into the sound, I wonder if it might be a sleeper.
Movies: Two reportedly terrible blockbusters, X-Men and Alice, crashed and burned at the box office. I saw X-Men and ity was terrible, as for Alice, they are all terrible: insults to Lewis Carroll’s genius.

Dept. of Just Sayin’: The Soviet Union was the second most powerful country in the world when, by all standards, it was a walking corpse. At the time, a ilitary as large as ours. Petrification of leadership. Decrease in life spans, increase in child mortality, declining birth rate, alarming rise in the rate of suicide, decreput infrastructure. Shortly thereafter it was no more.
Uncomfortable harsh similarities.
