Death: Lemmy dead at 70… it is difficult being able to spend your life doing most exactly what you want to do, mostly exactly when you want to do it. Trust me, I try all the time. Lemmy is the Patron Of Saint if Punk -a man who did it his way, loud fast, vicious. A bottle of black jack a day… for life.
Recorded: So yeah, a lot of Motorhead, a little Hawkwind. Otherwise, it is quiet time, though it begs an answer to the musical question: where is the new Rihanna? Surely she wouldn’t let Travis hold it up.
Live: I have my eyes on Rihanna and Bieber… but so far I can’t quite decide. I also have my eyes on Mickey Dolenz at BB Kings on the 16th of January.
The World: From NYT: “Training camps have sprouted up in Afghanistan, leading to questions on whether they could again become breeding grounds for attacks on the United States..” Pick your poison, guys.
Movies: In the middle of “Revenge Of The Sith” and I am reminded anew how atrocious the acting is. It echoes The Godfather Part II if the Godfather Part II was performed by the Muppets.
Sports: “The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for RHPs Caleb Cotham and Rookie Davis and INFs Eric Jagielo and Tony Renda. A National League All-Star in each of the last four seasons (2012-15), Chapman, 27, went 4-4 with 33 saves and a 1.63 ERA (66.1IP, 12ER) in 65 relief appearances with the Reds in 2015. His 15.74K/9.0IP ratio led all Major League relievers, while his 116K ranked second behind only Dellin Betances (131).
