Uber-shanghai-600

Taxi:  “Uber China said it was selling itself to Didi Chuxing, its fiercest rival there” according to the New York Times.  And made $5B in five years, yep you heard me. Still, compared to what you could make sending cabs to 900M people, that ain’t so much. The problem with China is they need to stop buggering about and play the game properly, commerce is as commerce does and if they keep on chasing out investors, they won’t have any investors. No wonder the US is so deeply in debt to the country.

Trump: They are coming for him, now they are looking at his draft deferment from 1968, and when will his refusal to release his tax returns bite him in the bum?

Clinton: I think the lesson for the US, and everywhere, is that if it is online, the Russians and the Chinese have read it… and vice versa of course.

Recorded: Yes, of course Drake and Future and getting ready for a McCartney playlist, but finally giving From Elvis In Memphis a real listen for the first time in decades. A veritable vocal masterclass but not as crazy about the songs as I remembered. Still early, of course. The Prince Hits but B Sides is still great.

Live: “We sincerely apologize for the premature and unprepared enthusiasm that fueled going on sale with this unprecedented festival. We really want the first year to be a huge success and just need the additional time to make it work correctly.” That’s Michael Dorf explaining City Winery’s cancellation of the two day fest. Aretha was to perform.

Sports: Nice extra inning  win by the Yanks against the Mets last night, but this year is over for them.

And that since she is the HRC, we can take away the fact that she’s just as stumblebum about technology as her opponent and that assistants do just about everything on networked computers for her. Not a big surprise although she has always liked to talk a big game about American tech and the Silicon Valley.
