New Music: The Chainsmokers new album Memories… Do Not Open,  is on heavy rotation, taking over from everything else at the moment. Like Ed Sheeran, it is great pop music which has no reason to exist except to give you the sweetest of buzzs. Annie Hardy’s Rules is beyond difficult, it is like you are listening to two opposing tracks at the same time and they are both falling apart. The strange and experimental Arca passed me by last week, but it sounds strange and pretty (Grade: B). the Frank Ocean created playlist Blonded sounds like the sound of sounds being invented that weren’t invented before… plus the Doobie Brothers! The new Frank Ocean song, “Biking” uses Jay Z to great effect and Tyler The Creator, Ocean sounding like butter on the chorus (Grade: B+)

Oldies: Getting ready for Big Sean tomorrow I’ve been listening to his setlist with immense pleasure, if anything I prefer his straight up 00s rap self story now than I did then.

Hitler And Heroin: More than nearly any leader, Hitler came to power not simply through anti-Semitism, but, more importantly, through attacking the Treaty Of Versailles which he managed to dismantle and put German’s economy back from bankruptcy to thriving. If he had been smarter he would have been FDR, but he believed his nonsense racism and shot himself right in the foot. Still, what people responded to was jobs. Being anti-Trump is to ignore the Hitlerism in him and while tell will tell if he has any FDR in him to deny that his achievements will start with the economy (exactly as it did with Hitler) is to ignore the addictive nature. Also, like heroin this is addictive stuff and to deny the euphoria of unwielding power is like denying the pleasures of heroin. It makes no sense and can’t be stopped unless its power of you is admitted. According to Wikipedia: ” (Hitler’s) first six years in power resulted in rapid economic recovery from the Great Depression, the effective abandonment of restrictions imposed on Germany after World War I, and the annexation of territories that were home to millions of ethnic Germans—actions which gave him significant popular support.”

Sports: Yanks lose again and their record is an ugly 1 – 4. Sure it’s early but it gets late early round here. The Mets aaren’t much better at 2 – 3. If they both lose today we can call it a lost weekend for the record books. The Yanks can’t get any opening pitching and the Mets are sloppy with a fifth starter who doesn’t appear to be up to it (yet). Gary Sanchez going on the DL? It’s a long season already.

Hillary Clinton: “As a person, I’m O.K. As an American, I’m pretty worried.”

The World: A bomb has exploded at a Church in Cairo, thereby derailing Abdel Fattah el-Sisi rehabilitation with the US. 21 dead.
