These Days: Saturday, October 23rd, 2015

Theatre: How can we miss Harry Potter if he won’t go away? Here is news from Potterland where a new play is opening this summer: “The story takes place 19 years after Harry’s final showdown with the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, described in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh book. Now an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic with three school-age children, Harry “grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs”, a statement about the new play said.Meanwhile, Albus, named after Harry’s old headmaster and mentor Albus Dumbledore, struggles with the weight of the family legacy.”As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places,” the publicists said.It is called “Harry Potter And The Cursed Child” and opens in London on July 30th! Co-written by Rowling by the way.

Recorded: So here is the new Adele and what I’ve learnt from the way obvious “Hello” is I vastly prefer Adele in 30 second allotments. Sounds like a female Sam Smith though the song isn’t catchy. Though, given my years of dismissal, I think it isn’t completely terrible. Perhaps I am mellowing but I kinda like her bellowing  – Grade: B

Live: I haven’t gotten round to reviewing Kendrick (I’ll catch up tomorrow), but that gig last night at Barclay was a real disappointment -long breaks between sets and why? To set up DJs -wow.

The Race For The Presidency – The GOP are a laughing stock. Hillary Clinton sliced and diced them and sealed her Democratic nomination.

And More: “The second poll in two days shows Donald J. Trump trailing Ben Carson, reflecting the challenges he faces in courting evangelical Christian conservatives.”
Palestinian Protest Songs: Can’t say it sounds like what I m,ight consider protest music, not even Lebanese protest music. It sounds like Arab pop. But apparently this is the sound track to the Intafada in Palestine right now. Personally, I think they deserve a whole lot better.
