Print On Line: Alan Rusbridger, Once Guardian’s Celebrated Editor, Severs Ties With It, so says the New York Times. ALan’s refusal to put up a wall so people have to pay, as everyone else seems to do, cost the paper a fortune and so the former editor walked the plank. I think we all admire this guy who used the Guardian’s pages to tell the world the paper was hemorrhaging money. So after turning the paper round, he turned it back again. Man, integrity is expensive.
Recorded: Here is a sneak peek of a different type. Album of the week? Chance The Rapper. Third best album of 2016 after Kanye and Beyonce? Chance The Rapper.

Sports: So the Russians cheated at the Sochi Olympics. I’m shocked, shocked: “A step-by-step look at how Russian agents used an elaborate scheme to swap out tainted urine samples for clean ones taken months earlier.” The Russians deny it.
More Sports: Mets and Yanks lose, the Yanks was a terrible shellacking for Luis Severino, “the 22-year-old starter who fell to 0-6 with a 7.46 E.R.A. in the Yankees’ 7-1 loss”. On the Mets side, Matt Harvey failed to deliver in a 2 – 3 loss.
