Syrian Ceasefire: “I know this: If it doesn’t work, the potential is there that Syria will be utterly destroyed. The fact is that we need to make certain that we are exploring and exhausting every option of diplomatic resolution.” Five years into the Syrian Civil War with over a quarter if a million men, women and children dead, and with the result of this ceasefire (that kicked in at midnight) is exactly why Russia joined the fray last year, to keep Assad in power, let’s hope this ends it. Who gained what from this tragedy for the Syrian people.

The Oscars: Trace the trail of breadcrumbs, as Antony requested us to do after she chose not to attend  the Oscars tomorrow. She was not invited to sing her Oscar nominated song, the excellent “Manta Ray”. Instead, we are getting Dave Grohl who has been nominated for absolutely nothing. Stupid, fucking Oscars. How is it Dave always finds himself on the wrong side of everything?

Award Shows: When did Lady Gaga become the Dave Grohl of awards shows? And what happened to her Little Monsters? Are they in foster care?

More Awards Show: Oh, and ANOHNI (Antony’s new name) song “Manta Ray” is much much better than Lady Gaga’s unlistenable “Till It Happens To You”. Guess which one is gonna win?

Speaking Of Campus Rape: This is the way it works, back in the day if you went out, fucked somebody and regretted it, you marked it down to experience and went on with your life. Today if you go out, fuck somebody and regret it, you ruin their lives.

Recordings: That George Harrison album is just terrible, much better is 1975, the Blind WIllie Johnson tribute album, Mothers, Charlie Funk, ih and two of the Blossoms songs. The new Wussy is pretty good on first listen though, and this maybe everybody else rather than them, all these quasi psychedelic bands sound the same.

Live: A very quiet start to 2016, though meanwhile I am seriously considering getting a ticket to 1975 -that’s how good the new album is.

Shooting: Hip-hop producer AraabMuzik shot twice in Harlem, friend also wounded…. Araabmuzik was shot in the jaw.
