These Days: Monday, April 17th, 2017

Movies: “The Fate Of The Furious” has evolved into a Bond-y supervillains movie, and they only use the Pitbull track from the first rate soundtrack. The movie is too long, the jokey repartee isn’t writing, it’s typing, and I could care less when zombie cars attack, submarines roar through the tundra, and there is drag racing in Cuba. A whole lotta fun and not much more Grade: B

Sports: No, what we wrote was IF Henriq can not allow anymore goals it will be smooth sailing. And, anyway, that was a long time ago, as Rangers fell to the Canadiens and are are behind 2 – 1 in the best of 7. A game away from being in a real mess, that Tuesday MSG game is, of course, as big as it gets for the team. They have skilled players that can make some plays and that’s what they did. They exposed us with a couple of good plays.”

More Sports: The Yanks have now won seven in a row in an astounding run that has them 6 – 0 in the first home stand of the season and in second place, a slim 0.5 behind the Birds. Meanwhile, the Mets are in third place, are a mere game over .500 and continue to lose. So, yeah, all is right with the world.

More More Sports: In an alternate reality, folks are still watching basketball.

New Music: Alyson Camus sent me an MP3 of Mount Eerie’s gig from last week and it is a haunting death is death horrorshow of loss. I will be writing my Kendrick later today for Popdose, hopefully it will have grown on me or they will be stuck with the only negative review on earth.

Oldies: I’ve been on a Teena Marie kick, there’s a new greatest hits set I haven’t seen so I’ve been listening to that. She was a goodie who died too young.

The World: The Times dubbed the North Korea sabre rattling as the Cuban Missile Crises in slow motion…

Israel: Palestinians are on hunger strike in Israeli prisons, and what happens when you go on hunger strike and nobody listens is you die.
