The Rolling Stones Turned Down ‘Carpool Karaoke’ With James Corden

Many people watch this show Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, the host of CBS’ The Late Late Show? I don’t think I have watched one single episode because I hate karaoke and it annoys me to see celebrities singing in a SUV with that late night guy, but it’s all over YouTube, and it is very successful. If you add all of the episodes together, you get a billion views on YouTube, yeap a billion. Which means I am really not in the norm, since I have a hard time to watch Corden in action and anything related to people involved in self-indulgent singing

The Carpool Karaoke has featured everyone and when you get huge stars such as Adele, Elton John, One Direction, Michelle Obama or Stevie Wonder, you always want more,… however, there is a rumor that huge stars have denied the invite. According to UK’s Metro, the Rolling Stones have turned down the offer! The Stones allegedly declared that an appearance on the show would be ‘embarrassing’…. And this despite the pressure Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts received from record label Polydor. First of all, I can’t believe the Stones are still pressured by their label,… then the news (if true) rejoices me greatly because I can’t stand the show and Broadway-in-a-car ambition, and its highly-caffeinated host.

‘James and his team were keen to get them to sign up for the segment as part of the promo for their new album – but there’s no swaying them,’ reports the Metro. ‘The guys, particularly Keith, just weren’t up for doing it. They just felt it would be a bit embarrassing – the thought of singing along to Stones tracks in a car in front of the cameras was just too much for them.’

That makes me love The Stones even more! They were described as dream guests by producer Ben Winston, but he should know, he can’t always get what he wants, especially with the Stones.
