That Was The Week That Was: November 2nd, 2015
USA: “President Obama on Tuesday rejected an attempt by lawmakers to force his hand on the Keystone XL oil pipeline, using his veto pen to sweep aside one of the first major challenges to his authority by the new Republican Congress.” I realize a lot of people, of all tripes, hates Obama, but as he enters the sunset of his presidency, he has never let anything get in the way of doing what he saw fit. This is another great move.
Recorded: This week was all about the Bob Dylan XII. Everything else took a back seat to the sublime 65-66 recording sessions.
Live: I blew off my one concert because it was 6pm and Craig Finn wouldn’t go on till 10pm –what a drag it is getting old
Sports: The Jets and the Giants won, two mediocre teams who might make the playoffs, and New York Knicks beat the Lakers Sunday afternoon –a bad team who won’t make the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Redbulls advanced to the next round and the Rangers are in first place.
Weather: The warmest summer on record but it was all a dream, and the weather is back to November now.
Television: SNL hit a new low.
