The Tonys: The Hamilton inauguration, winning a whopping 11 awards. I think I am the only person who has one word for the show: OVERRATED. Still, I am happy I saw it, or I’d be down $1500 checking out the zeitgeist.
Theatre: A new block of tickets went on sale for Hamilton at 1115pm just after the Tonys. I was fast asleep of course but I woke up at 5am, noticed the email, and the best I could get was premium single which was an eye popping $1K (about). Having seen it, I passed on the double dip.
Pulse: The thing not to do is try and protect yourself from senseless acts of violence which are really unprotectable from, through security laws always with a secondary purpose: to take away freedom. From Brussels to Baghdad,Paris to Jerusalem, citizens live with the truth: we can be killed by terrorists as easily as not killed by terrorists. The way to fight terrorism is ECONOMICALLY and through small proxy wars. Till then, live through it.
Live: Dixie Chicks tonight, and the more I listen to their catalog the happier I become. What a terrific band they are, I expect big big things.
Recorded: Listening to the Heavy, Dixie Chicks opening act, and listening to a whole big buncha new releases, I reckin 21 good albums were released last week, a rare feat indeed. Number one? Allen Toussaint. Followed by Amy Klein and The Gotobeds.
Sports: The Penguins win the Stanley Club, amazingly Peru eliminates Brazil from Copa America, Yanks lose, Mets lose, talk about a lost weekend.
