That Was The Week That Was: April 29th, 2016

Sports: Is it too early to panic yet? The Red Sox, who don’t have the greatest team in the world though they are at the top of the league, swept the Yankees. leaving them 8 – 15. Like the man said, you can be boring and good, or exciting and bad but you can’t be boring and bad. I remember in maybe 1999, going to a game once and the Yanks were down 0 – 7 in the seventh,my friend wanted to leave but I told him to hold on, it ain’t over. The Yanks won on a Bernie Williams walk off home run. That was fifteen years ago or so. Today, the Stadium is a distracting horrorshow, the prices are ridiculous, the team is bad and boring, the expensive seats are always empty because nobody can afford em and the cheap seats aren’t cheap. And the games are a lugubrious slog. AND they have fewer and fewer afternoon games.

The Race For The Presidency: So this is what we’ve come to? “Lucifer in the flesh” versus McScrooge and Lucifer can’t begin to take him down.

Speaking of Satanists: The Satanic Temple Lucien Greaves (perhaps the most perfect name ever for a Satanist) spokesperson had this to say: “Christians can’t just push Cruz off on Satanists. All he’s trying to say is that Ted Cruz is some type of embodiment of evil. I think that’s a rather destructive, backward mindset, because when you take clearly Christian individuals, clearly Christian activities, and things go sour, you pass them off as the influence of Satan.”

Live: Pearl Jam tonight, and after one disappointing concert after another, I am ready for a goodie. Last time I saw em, at Barclay Center a coupla years, they were good not great so let’s wait and see.

Recorded: So no Radiohead release, they were busy taking down all signs of life before the release of their eagerly anticpated latest travesty. Here’s a concept: announce where and when you are gonna release your next album and release it.

Weather: What a miserable week it was, right? And it is raining today.
