The Jamie Lawson album is very good, though not quite as good as I claimed it was. Close but it sinks too much in the middle. John Newman is too much of a good thing. And the question on everyone’s mind is what happens to Sam Smith now Adele is back and sounds so much like him?

Jamie Lawson – Jamie Lawson – The Irish singer songwriter has fashioned a pop folk masterpiece for himself, the first song is a true love with a twist at the end, the second a universal anthem of love and hope, and the third a simple metaphor for new love and togetherness. All three are as full hearted and beautifully scripted as it gets. And while the album doesn’t maintain this level of songwriter, it never dips by much either. Jamie’s boss, Gingerbread Man Records owner Ed Sheeran must be as impressed as I am – ALBUM OF THE WEEK – A-
