Stella McCartney Took Over Amoeba On Tuesday Night, For Her Autumn 2016 Presentation

I spend so much time at Amoeba, I have sometimes the feeling it’s an extension of my home. However, the vinyl and record mecca was off-limit for people like me last night, Stella McCartney was having a private party for her Autumn 2016 Presentation.

There were two tickets to win, but the contest implied you had some sense of fashion, and since I had none, I didn’t even bother. The store was closed for the day and stars lined up to discover Stella’ new fashion line. Just check out this line up! Ringo Starr, Gwneth Paltrow, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Johnny Depp, Lily-Rose Depp, Amber Heard, Mary J. Blige, Quincy Jones, Kate Hudson, Beck, Sarah Silverman, Kelly Osbourne, Joanne Froggatt, Brad Goreski, Molly Sims, Kate Upton, Orlando Bloom, Pink, Dallas Green, the Haim sisters, Nicole Richie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Riley Keough (Presley’s grand daughter) and many others attended the show while Brian Wilson, Dhani Harrison (and his band thenewno2), Marilyn Manson, joined by Johnny Depp, did provide the musical soundtrack of the evening. What? Macca was not there? Apparently he wasn’t and all these Hollywood people socialized around pizza and cocktails.

What a dream night, I wish I could have been invisible to crash the party. The store had a pink vibe as Stella had given the place a ’70s concert hall treatment, with psychedelic posters, and flashing neon lights

‘L.A., right now, is on fire, and it’s full of creativity on every level,’ declared Stella McCartney to Fashionista. ‘My main inspiration is always women, and because I’m a woman designing for women, I want the clothes to be worn, to be real to people. For me, it’s all about making women’s lives easier.’

Dhani Harrison showed us how close the Beatles’ kids are since he posted on his Facebook, ‘Kicking off tonight’s party for big sis @stellamccartney and picking me up some more benny goodman records while im at it.’

As for Stella’s newest fashion line? I will only report what I have read, because, as I have said, I have no sense of fashion. But the new creations they ‘are dominated by cream and earthy tones with dabs of indigo, orange and pink. They also included cat designs, long, lean looks and accents of glitter.’ One thing seems sure, she really wants to keep her fashion intertwined with music when she picked Amoeba for her fashion show, out of all the places that exist in NYC or LA.
