Liam Gallagher appears to have responded to the latest update about brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher’s new album by calling him a “potato” and saying “Fuck Oasis”.

Producer David Holmes recently described Gallagher’s upcoming record as “fun” in an interview, saying that “people are going to be surprised” by it.

Liam Gallagher later took to Twitter, seemingly referring to the comments by writing: “FUN is that what you call it your nothing but a YES man remember that GINGE”.

He also posted a photo of Noel with the caption “Potato” and written “FUCK OASIS” in a subsequent tweet.

Producer and electronic musician David Holmes had spoken to Gigwise, saying that “people are going to be surprised” by the “fun” feel of Gallagher’s record.

“It’s going really good,” Holmes said. “We’re a good bit into it now, we’ve got nearly five tracks done now.”

“People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, uptempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is quite fun.”
