Sinead O’Connor

How many times do we have to go through this same old and sad story? A story that must be terrifying for her family. Once again (and I have lost count of how many times this has happened before) Sinead O’Connor has disappeared while been reported suicidal. According to TMZ and the Daily Mail, the police in Chicago is looking for her, after receiving a call from Irish police which was alerted by Sinead’s family. The famous singer allegedly told her relatives she was planning to jump off a bridge in Chicago.

‘The word from the Ireland police sergeant Claire Mulligan, Dublin, Ireland, is saying that at 1530 hours Sinead O’Connor called and said, ‘I’m on a bridge in Chicago and I’m going to jump’’, said a Chicago police alert. At this point it is a world-wide cooperation and a very sad affair because no specific bridge in Chicago was specified.

Sinead has been struggling with depression and mental illness for a while, she was already reported missing last May and found safe, but why wasn’t she put under close surveillance, why didn’t she receive any therapy? How many times will she be reported missing and found safe and sound, until…. She is found dead? Let’s really really hope it will not be the case this time. Last time, she had left a long message to her first husband John Reynolds and basically to her family on her Facebook page. Cynical people had said this was a cry for attention, but you know what? It didn’t matter! if someone has said he or she is suicidal, any threat of suicide should be taken very seriously. However there is something very troublesome this time, her Facebook page is down and she hasn’t touched her Twitter account for a long time. No cry for help this time, just a suicidal woman wanting to jump from a bridge in Chicago.
