Back in my youth, well, in my 50s, or at least post -Covid, I would spend a Saturday sucking up culture: theatre, movie, concert. It is the sort of thing you can only do on a regular basis in only two cities: London and New York.
But the pandemic slowed me down and 67 is not that young, it is where if you made it you count the time to the long goodbye.
So, years later, Saturday is my first triple header in years… and as added plus I am gonna grade em without seeing them.
Bad Cinderella – This is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s on the great fairy tale, and the songs I’ve heard have been alright MOR ALW fashion but nothing great. Even so, ALW with a new Broadway musical is an event – Grade: B-
Movies: I have been searching for the Winnie The Pooh horror movie (“Blood And Honey”) but apparently it was a special event screening back on the 15th and I missed it. So whatever I finally decide to see will not be due to the movie but the timing, I figure I will be stuck with the new Ant Man – C
SZA: I’ve been waiting for this for years (the last time I saw her was nearly exactly five years ago, her new (ish) album SOS has been at the top of the Billboard 200 for record breaking weeks on end and if your taste goes toward pop stars at a height this s unmissable. I missed Omar Apollo, but caught up and am impressed with the opening act – B+
