All The Ways Love Can Feel – Maxwell – The falsetto is a gentle surging against an invetr=erate beat, and a synth that sorts like a punctuation mark, almost rap like. Not really neo-soul, but a sideways experimental messing about with the sound, which slowly screws with the tempo as well, till it becomes modern and different without being obtuse.
What We Live For – American Authors – I don’t like this sort of mainstream rock much but this song has a new wavey stop and start that saves the boisterous chorus from self-destruction.1D meets the Cars?
Flexecution – Logic – The hook here is excellent, it carries the entire track on its back and intros you right into the album, Logic isn’t a great rapper but he is alright here, he gets it done.
Changed The Locks – High Water – Off a very good album, this stands as the Lucinda WIlliams cover of your dreams, and electronic tech soulfulness that digs very deep into the superb story song but just for an instance vision of break up.
Precarious (Supermarket Song) – Martha – Punk pop song with a very good riff to move it along and a sweet lyric about asking someone for a date, can’t help but cheer you up.
Young In All The Wrong Ways – Sara Watkins – A yeller but not a screamer, There is anger bubbling all through it, and it pops till the break, when it simmers and pops again.
M.I.L.F.’s – Fergie – I don’t like anything about this song except the beats, and I love the beats, so cracked and raucuous and all the place.
weaving a fairy tale for us to get lost in
