Press Releases For August: Here Are The Artists

 press releases for August
BabyJake is among these press releases for August.

Kid Francescoli, Albert Hammond Jr, BabyJake, Bombay Bicycle Club, POSTDATA, Teddy Geiger, OSEES are the artists among these press releases for August.

Kid Francescoli – “Run Run”: An hypnotic synth-driven track that adds layers little by little transforming the soundscape into a warm pop song with haunting vocal harmonies. Following the earlier releases of new singles “1986” and “You Are Everywhere” (ft. Turbo Goth), Kid Francescoli (the electro-pop project of French musician Mathieu Hocine) has unveiled more details on his forthcoming LP, “Sunset Blue,” due September 22. Hocine wrote of the track: “‘Run Run’ is a song about pushing yourself, not getting discouraged, continuing to fight, and keeping hope. It’s also a song about getting through certain crucial stages of life, like when you reach the age your parents were when they had you, and getting past them, past the figures, the pillars of life they represent. It’s a positive song, written in major (one of my few in this case), and very rhythmic that moves forward running at a very high tempo, which I composed with live performance in mind as well.” Conceived during his first world tour and completed everywhere on a recent sold-out world tour of 200 dates (throughout the USA, Europe, Asia, and more), “Run Run” is the quintessence of the unique style of the leader of the French Riviera touch: pop, synthetic and ultra melodic. It’s the most obvious gateway to his universe tinged with love, sunsets, the Mediterranean, hope, and the desire to live his best life. With its catchy vocal gimmick, its unison female chorus, its bewitching chord sequence, its heady chorus, and its galloping rhythm, “Run Run” is an unexpected pop euphoria shot.

Albert Hammond Jr – “Memo of Hate”: An anxious tempo with vibrating and poignant guitars (giving a touch of country here and there) for a quite melodious song. The track, which is accompanied by a video (the next in a series of episodic videos directed by Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg), is taken from Hammond Jr’s new solo album, “Melodies On Hiatus,” released via Red Bull Records. “I’m going through changes and these songs reflect behaviors and moments of mine that—as time has gone on—have taken shape and become universal,” Hammond Jr explains. “I get asked about the meaning or big picture of this album, but it’s just that writing songs and creating is who I am and feels like why I exist. My goal is to have my music be part of someone’s life, part of their fabric, and this feels like the best collection of music I’ve made and my best attempt at achieving that.” With contributions from GoldLink, Steve Stevens, Matt Helders, and Rainsford, “Melodies on Hiatus “features production by Gus Oberg and was co-written remotely with Simon Wilcox, mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air, M83, Metric, Chromeo) and mastered by Dave Cooley (Paramore, Spoon, Tame Impala, Jimmy Eat World,).

BabyJake -“Cry Cry Cry”: Emotive chords and vocals for a soulful ballad that suddenly explodes to anthemic levels evocative of powerful ‘70s music. A video accompanies the track. BabyJake wrote of the inspiration behind the song: “I pulled a ton of inspo from Joe Cocker on ‘Cry Cry Cry.’ The production was made to be a soft ballad that explodes into this intense hook that rings out in a live music setting as well as on your iPhone speaker. As far as the songwriting goes, the song is about a man (slightly hinted at myself in the past tense) who is addicted to cocaine & realizes the tragedy it causes him, but isn’t able to let it go (something I dealt with in my own life for quite a while). The hook lyrics ‘Don’t you Cry, Cry, Cry for me baby’ are the man talking to himself. What ya gunna do, cry about it? On the other hand it could also be loved ones that see what’s going on & are deeply saddened by the experience. It’s open for interpretation, but for me it’s definitely a monologue going on within his own head & nobody else. Ya got to get up & do something about it. It aint gunna help itself. Don’t cry about it. Don’t cry for me baby, don’t cry..” Chosen as a VEVO DSCVR artist and frequent collaborator with artists such as 24kgldn to Dillon Francis, Nashville-based singer-songwriter BabyJake has made an indelible mark on the modern music landscape since his debut in 2019 with “Cigarettes on Patios” (Certified Gold, 125M+ streams across DSPs). With acclaim from outlets such as Billboard, Wonderland, Lyrical Lemonade, Ones to Watch, and American Songwriter, in addition to 20+ Spotify placements (Feel Good Indie Rock, Dopamine, Varsity Bars) and 30+ Apple Music placements (Chilltronics, New in Pop, AltPop, Superbloom), BabyJake is on the rise and hasn’t let up.

Bombay Bicycle Club – “My Big Day”: A catchy, crunching, and playful song with a big chorus that sounds familiar at the first notes; it comes with a video, directed by Jon Higgs from Everything Everything and Kit Monteith (a long-time friend of the band, who plays percussion for Foals when not directing music videos), which showcases a local newscast covering some heavy-hitting news.  This is the title track of British guitar band Bombay Bicycle Club’s sixth studio album, due for release on October 20 via AWAL. The album was produced by vocalist/guitarist Jack Steadman at The Church Studios in North London and then back at the band’s own studio. It features an eclectic host of guest vocalists that perfectly encapsulates the breadth of the band’s widespread appeal. Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya, and Holly Humberstone all lend their voices across the course of the record, with a fifth special guest releasing a song with the band later this summer. Jack sits on both sides of the glass for the duration of the record, having previously produced their fourth album “So Long, See You Tomorrow,” and co-production with John Congleton for 2020’s “Everything Else Has Gone Wrong.” Additional production comes from Paul Epworth on the track “Heaven” and Ben Allen who co-produces “Turn The World On”—the band previously worked with Allen on their hit single “Shuffle” back in 2011.

POSTDATA – “Mine The Sea”: A light pop song with layered vocals, a driven tempo, and a catchy chorus going crescendo throughout the song. POSTDATA — the solo music project of Wintersleep lead singer and songwriter, Paul Murphy — will release a brand new LP, “Run Wild,” due September 22 via Paper Bag Records. On the track, he wrote: “‘Mine The Sea’ is the idea of digging deeper into yourself to find who you are and where you want to go. it’s about the search…but also about letting go of habitual ways and allowing yourself to be open to possibility.” The accompanying video was directed by Griffin O’Toole: “Creating this video with Paul was a blast. When Paul approached me with this song I was so excited to get creative with the visuals. Inspired by Radiohead’s video for ‘House of Cards,’ I wanted to pay homage to something that was so groundbreaking for its time, but still make it new and special.” “Run Wild,“ POSTDATA’s forthcoming fourth LP, from its first springtime keystrokes, is a brilliant, technicolor indie rock odyssey. “I felt like it was time to take POSTDATA someplace new, and be a little more free with what it is,” he says. “I was trying to go all-out stylistically, and trying to flesh out all the different places that it could actually take it. I wanted to give it more space, allow it to go wherever it needed to.” Last year, POSTDATA shared their critically-acclaimed album, “Twin Flames” released via Paper Bag Records.

Teddy Geiger – “True Love”: A fuzzy, muddy track with buried vocals and dark synth swirls working like a fading dream. Geiger wrote of the track: “The music originated from some ambient amp noise I had recorded and tuned and layered, a fuzzy little form emerged out of that. ‘True Love‘ is about living truth, being honest with yourself, and knowing when to walk away.” This track is the first single from the Grammy-nominated songwriter’s forthcoming record, “Teresa,” due later this year via STEM. Continuing on her forthcoming record, Teddy Geiger — who works under the moniker teddy<3 (pronounced “teddy”) — wrote: “I was fortunate to be able to take a three-month trip to Madrid in 2019 to reflect and get out of LA and live fresh. All the songs on “Teresa” came out of that period of self-discovery.” “Taking some time and space to put together this lyric book really helped me reconnect to not only the songs and the feeling of the album but I also found myself rediscovering creativity outside of music,” Geiger explained. Teddy Geiger’s songwriting and production credits are wide-ranging and have garnered billions of streams and multiple #1 hits. Her collaborations include P!nk, Leon Bridges, Empire of the Sun, Sylvan Esso, Sir Chloe, and Caroline Polachek. She played an integral role in producing and co-writing 12 tracks on Shawn Mendes’ Billboard #1 self-titled album, including the single “In My Blood,” which earned her first GRAMMY nomination for Song of the Year.

OSEES – “Goon”: An angry punk bullet song delivered with visceral humor and ragging urgency with the OSEES’s usual craziness. The ever-prolific and constantly frenetic OSEES recently announced details for their forthcoming LP, “Intercepted Message,” due August 18 via In The Red. The band has shared this new track with its own video (starring Zack Palmisano). On their forthcoming album, John Dwyer wrote the following: “A pop record for tired times. Sugared with bits of shatterproof glass to put more crack in your strap. At long last, Verse/chorus. A weathered thesaurus. This is Osees bookend sound. Early-grade garage pop meets proto-synth punk suicide-repellant. Have a whack at the grass or listen while flat on your ass. Heaps of electronic whirling accelerants to gum up your cheapskate broadband. Social media toilet scrapers unite! Allow your 24-hour news cycle eyes to squint at this smiling abattoir doorman. You can find your place here at long last. All are welcome. From the get-go to the finale …. A distant crackling transmission of 80s synth last-dance-of-the-night tune for your lost loves. Suffering from Politic amnesia? Bored of AI-generated pop slop? Then this one is for you, our friends. Wasteland wanderer, stick around. Love y’all. For fans of Teutonic synth punk and Thee Oh Sees (who the fuck are they?).”
