Talk about keeping you on your toes, AMEX had an unannonced presale to Paul Simon at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, one of a 31 date tour (also known as the refill the coffers show) but this should be more than that because
1 – Paul was born in Forest Hills
2 – He played the venue in NINETY SEVENTY.
That’s 46 years ago and there should be plenty of memories among the giant CD screens and backless seats which makes this lovely place with the awesome set your watch by it 10pm cutoff, seven stops from my home on the subway venue.
I heard about the gig this morning and discovered tickets would be on sale on Friday and then for no reason I can fathom, I double checked on Ticketfly and an Amex presale had kicked in. God forbid anybody informs anyone about anything. Stupid is the new hip, apparently, not selling your records or tickets (hey, West and Panorama) is the new selling your records and tickets.
So, the hope is we get a Simon and Garfunkel ewunion -the last time I saw em together was at the reopening of the Beacon Theatre.
Meanwhile, I bought my ticket and recommend you do the same, if this winter has taught us anything it has taught us our rock star faves are on their way out and should be seen before it is too late. A Thursday sucks but even so,
