New Zealand-based “Maori Metal” Outfit ALIEN WEAPONRY To Release Exclusive Record Store Day Edition of “Tu” Tomorrow
Hailing from the city of Waipu, New Zealand, thrash metal trio ALIEN WEAPONRY are poised to make their return to North America on the strength of the group’s debut album, ‘Tū‘. Fans and music critics alike have applauded the band’s approach to unifying Te Reo Māori (the native language of New Zealand) with thrash metal sensibilities; ultimately creating a sound that is driven by emotionally and politically charged conflict while boasting youthful, warrior-like resilience.
In celebration of Record Store Day Alien Weaponry have announced an exclusive version of their debut album “Tu.” This exclusive Orange/Brown Splatter LP+7inch is limited to 500 copies and will only be available the US and Canada on Record Store Day tomorrow April 13th, 2019.
Alien Weaponry will make their return to North America this May with a 16-city tour that includes multiple festival dates. The upcoming trek begins May 4th at Domination Festival in Mexico City, Mexico and concludes on May 29th at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA. A complete list of the band’s tour dates in North America can be found below.
In addition to the upcoming tour dates in Mexico, Canada, and the United States, Alien Weaponry have partnered with Metal Injection and Consequence of Sound for the release of their new tour documentary, “Alien Weaponry Shake Europe”. The 10-part series was released in two tiers, with Metal Injection premiering the first five episodes and Consequence of Sound dropping the remaining five parts this week.
