Little by little, we are learning pieces of information related to Prince’s death, and today KSTP 5 Eyewitness News has learned that Prince had entered an out-patient treatment program. Prince had chronic hip pain and allegedly, he wanted to stop using medication prescribed to treat his pain. Journalists are nevertheless cautious and are not saying that Prince was necessarily addicted to painkillers, may be he was looking for help because he was afraid to get addicted to medications – but honestly it looks like he was probably already addicted.
We should wait for the complete results of the autopsy which should determine if Prince’s addiction was real or not, as there’s still a lot we don’t know. Of course there are these other rumors reported by TMZ that Prince was getting his supply of prescription drugs from more than one doctor, including a personal friend, and this other one reported by different tabloids that Prince only weighed 80 lbs at the time of his death because he had AIDS?
The Daily Mail is also reporting that Prince traveled over six miles from his home and passed at least eight pharmacies before reaching the one where he picked up his final prescription. And according to TMZ, family members allegedly believe that he may have chosen a pharmacy so far away from his Paisley Park home in order to hide his prescription paper trail. Which does not make too much sense to me,… how can you fool pharmacies by traveling 6 miles when every subscription is electronically sent everywhere? Shouldn’t a pharmacy be able to check if a prescription has already been filled 6 miles away?
CNN is also revealing that between 2013 and his death on April 21, four medical emergency calls were made from his home, according to reports from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, 911 calls were placed on October 23, 2013; August 9, 2015; September 6, 2015; and, of course, on April 21, 2016. CNN has filed a request for information as we don’t know the causes of these other calls.
I don’t know if we will ever know the complete truth, but one thing is sure, Prince was not doing so well health-wise, in the months preceding his death, and even his personal chef had noted something strange. Ray Roberts talked to Minneapolis City Pages a few days ago: ‘The last few months he had the flu or a cold, always. There was always something going on. He was off his game and needed to rest. I had to be careful about what I was serving him.’… ‘Prince was more frequently requesting foods that would help him to feel better, or something easy for his throat, or foods that made him feel like he was being nourished.’…‘And on the Monday before he died, he made an unusual request: a crudite plate with edamame hummus. ‘He ordered it like he was ordering something from a restaurant,’… ‘it was something Prince almost never did.’
Sadly Roberts discovered later that Prince never ate that dinner.
