Melymel lights up the streets with new single “Cuando Salimos” (When We Out)

With the release of her 4thsingle from upcoming album Dragon Queen, Melymel once again demonstrates her aptitude to rap and lyrical talent on “Cuando Salimos.”A dark and gritty Trap song written for the streets in where we see a more aggressive side of Melymel, contrary to her last two singles “No One” y “Si No Te Amara” [If I Didn’t Love You] where she sings about love and a woman’s vulnerability.
“Cuando Salimos,” like her first single “IDGAF,” reaffirms why she was given the moniker “La Mamá del Rap” being she is one of the most respected rappers within the urban genre. The song was produced by HighQuality who also produced “IDGAF” and has worked with many artists in the same space from Jon Z to Eladio Carron.
“When I made this record, I was in the studio with HighQuality in NY and he was playing beats for me and when he played this one, the only thing I can think of was about life in the hood and the sounds of the streets. From that point on the lyrics just spilled out of me…” Melymel tells us about how the song came to life.
Melymel recorded this song in 2016 with the intention to release it at the right moment; hence, this is why it is one of the most anticipated songs of the album.

In addition, Melymel entered Apple Music’s famed Trap Kingz playlist with “Cuando Salimos” and was chosen by TIDAL for the cover of their new playlist TRAP DIVA$. For TIDAL it was important to highlight the spectrum of talented women within the urban Latin space starting with Melymel due to her contributions to the genre.

The video will be shot in New York City in the next few weeks and will be premiered just before the album drops via EMPIRE.
