Meghan Trainor Takes Down A Photoshopped Video

You probably have heard of pop stars heavily photoshopping any picture before posting it on Instagram or Facebook, thigh gap that doesn’t exist here, unrealistic tiny waist there… so it takes balls to do what Meghan Trainor did. After the release of her video for ‘Me Too’, which premiered on Monday morning, Meghan was not happy about what she saw and she told it as it is to USA Today:

‘I saw fans posting it and was like, ‘Why are fans ruining my waist? Are you kidding?’ Then I went to the video and was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I texted the editors like, ‘I never asked you to touch my waist. I want my waist back.’

‘Dude, look at how bomb I look,’ she said, ‘Why would they ever be like, ‘Let’s break her ribs!’ It’s insulting, it’s rude. Especially because I’m the only artist who talks about it.’

If you don’t see exactly what she is talking about it is because the current video is non-edited. Meghan was so mad that the video was pulled off Vevo and Youtube on Monday and a non-edited version was re-uploaded. And just to show to the world she was not making stuff up, she also shared side-by-side pics comparing the edited version with the unedited one.

‘They Photoshopped the crap out of me,’ she explained in a Snapchat. ‘I’m so sick of it and I’m over so I took it down until they fix it.’

They obviously had done some work around Meghan’s waist, and if there are a lot of outfit changes in the clip, the scene that had been retouched is around minute 2 when Meghan dances in this electric blue dress.

Meghan is the girl who sang with pride ‘All About That Bass’ and who has been very outspoken about unattainable beauty standards for women, she has become the poster girl for body acceptance and say-no-to-photoshop, she is the anti Kim Kardashian-Beyonce in this sense, and this is a healthy attitude… although these days nobody knows what is real or not, nobody can make the difference between honesty and a publicity stunt.
