Madonna To Play Madison Square Garden Twice In August 2023

Just as a complained that major concerts were stadium driven, graduating folks like Red Hot Chili Peppers from 20K to 80K seaters, just as Madonna returns to the stage after a four year break (here). If you think Madonna can’t fill a stadium you are greatly mistaken (here), so the decision to perform at MSG in August is nothing if not an against the tide calling (of the upcoming MetLife concerts the only one I got was Taylor Swift).

In 2019, she played the 2,109 seat Howard Gilman Opera House, 10% of the size of MSG, 2.5% of the size of MetLife: in other words the triple the price what you expect to pay for at the box office and secondary market was through the roof (currently the cheapest tix on sale on Stubhub is $160+ -not bad considering). The two MSG shows will certainly sell out if not Taylor Swift sell out.

I really loved that remix album and I worshipped Rebel Heart (if not Madame X). And I think I’ll go (for better or worse…) on August 23rd and August 24th, though a very late start is expected.
