Live Through This: Top Concert Picks For The Week Of March 11th, 2019

Massive Attack were my first choice for the top, top pick, the premiere purveyors of that Bristol sound Trip Hop, performing the entire Mezzanine album at Radio City Music Hall… then they cancelled due to illness. So I am stuck with the Pixies and Weezer at MSG on Tuesday… PS the picture is meant to be  3-12…

Monday – Chris Difford – City Winery – When I saw his partner in Squeeze Glenn Tilbrook with his band Fluffer, Glenn was better than his current Squeeze performances. Maybe it holds true for Chris.

Monday, Tuesday – Ella Mai – Brooklyn Steel – “Boo’d Up” was a sure shot, the album wasn;t , so let’s see if she can get her mojo back on stage.

Monday – An Evening With Fleetwood Mac – Madison Square Garden – So… we finally get to see the Mac without Lindsey Buckingham… they should have dumped Stevie instead…

Tuesday – Sabrina Carpenter – Irving Plaza

Tuesday, Wednesday –  Weezer/Pixies – Madison Square Garden – Plus TV On The Radio

Tuesday, Wednesday – Meek Mill: The Motivation Tour – Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom – The poster boy for warehousing black men in prison, brings Philly freedom to New York

Tuesday  – Anne-Sophie Mutter – Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall

Tuesday –  Saturday – Suzanne Vega – Cafe Carlyle

Tuesday, Wednesday – James Bay – Beacon Theatre

Tuesday – Tokyo Police Club – Warsaw

Wednesday – Teenage Fanclub – Bowery Ballroom – The last Britpop band ever still standing

Friday – Loudon Wainwright III Presents “Surviving Twin” – As Seen on Netflix – Sony Hall – I saw some of it on Netflix, a little on the tired side…

Friday – Jefferson Starship – Ridgefield Playhouse – Aren’t they all dead?

Friday – A$ap Mob Presents A$ap Tyy’s Project Rockstar Party – Sony Hall – A midnight performance…

Comment: With both Black 47 and The Pogues out of commission, you won’t find a Flogging Molly for miles because they are all in Boston next Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day…
