Live Through This: rock nyc’s Concert Picks Week of March 13th, 2017

I missed Green Day, pushing that two and a half albums too long triple, after they moved it from midweek to a Sunday. Remember, Green day go to rehab. But, despite misgivings, I am gonna catch em on Wednesday at Barclay Center. I don’t have high hopes but I do have some hopes for the live show even though that Revolution Radio wasn’t much… hardly a ringing endorsement but there you go.
Tuesday – Sting 57th & 9th Tour – Sting – Hammerstein Ballroom – I wouldn’t go if you paid me… but you might. especially because it’s at this relatively small venue

Wednesday – Art Garfunkel – City Winery – Despite the limitations on his voice, which he makes up for by speaking too much and reading bad poetry, when he does sing Art still sounds like an angel and is therefore worth visiting with.

Saturday – Florida Georgia Line: Dig Your Roots Tour – Prudential Center – Of course I hate the Kings Of bro, but the last three country shows I’ve seen have all been great so if you’re a fan… well, why not?

Saturday – Martha Reeves and the Vandellas – BB Kings – Still dancing in the streets after all these years…

Sunday – Eric Clapton – Madison Square Garden – I’m going a week on Monday and this should be a biggie…

Sunday – Wilco – Beacon Theatre – Sure they bore the hell outta you and Jeff Tweedy looks like the would be cool kid knowitall, but the last two albums were pretty good so it might be worth a viewing, right?
