Live Through This: rock nyc Concert Picks For The Week Of August 22nd, 2016

marc-anthony-radio-city-music-hall

From Friday to Sunday next week, and Friday and Saturday the following week, Marc Anthony -the greatest Latin singer of our generation, is living his life at Radio City Music Hall. As the room noted, “iconic venue, iconic voice”, and unmissable. I am going on Friday, and I haven’t seen him since, wow, since he was married to J Lo…

Tuesday – UB40 feat. Ali Campbell, Astro & Mickey – Terminal 5 – “Red reeeed wine…” If it was at the Beacon I might have gone…

Tuesday, Thursday – Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: The River Tour – Metlife – I’ve already seen it twice, and if it had been closer to home, back to MSG for instance, I might well have triple dipped.

Saturday – Prophets of Rage – Make America Rage Again Tour – Barclay Center – No promises but this could kill… no wait, one promise AWOL Nation will kill.

Saturday – The Bangles – Irving Plaza – Just another manic Saturday for the California girl group still power popping their way through life.

Sunday – Sports Illustrated Summer of Swim ft Action Bronson – Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk – If it wasn’t for date rape… oh wait, that joke isn’t funny any more.

Sunday – 2016 MTV Video Music Awards – Madison Square Garden – The last time I went, Justin Timberlake (the other white meat) killed it and I sat opposite Taylor Swift and spied on her ALL NIGHT LONG… This is a private event and you need a special code to get in. I could call MTV, but I don’t think I’ll bother. General Public Onsale date and time are in the works…. I don’t know, I am going out Friday and Saturday and who wants a Sunday…?
