Lily Allen And James Bay Argue About Nothing

First the Gigwise story:

James Bay has spoken out to distance himself from quotes in which he appeared to be attacking Lily Allen over her negative stance towards the BRIT Awards.

Allen previously slammed the BRITs for the lack of diversity in their nominations and for not giving grime enough credit, before Bay said that he ‘couldn’t remember’ her last release.

‘Sheezus’ then took offence at being branded as ‘forgettable’, comparing Bay to the ‘standard, basic and least flavorsome herb’ with which he shares his name.

Now, Bay has denied ever attacking Allen – telling WENN: “Having been out of the country in Australia and America for the past 3 weeks I was unaware of Lily’s comments about the Brits. I fully support and believe the Brits should represent a diverse spectrum of artists and music.

“I don’t feel negative towards Lily or her music at all. I’d simply been unaware of her most recent release and subsequently someone has been over creative with this whole story.”

Where to start? I support Lily’s decision to break away from the pop music grind and have a family, however her return has been imminently forgettable. Sheezus was not a great album and all the coolness of her years at the top disappeared like that, now she is just another mid-level grafter with a big mouth and if she was more, her terrible performance at Highline Ballroom was like a hammer in the coffin of whatever she had once been.

True, James bay is around a million times worse.

And the entire “grime” scene is terrific.

But stop whining about racial discrimination. Like , fuck off I’m sick of it. Geez, where is your sense of proportion. The Brits might suck as much s the Grammys but do they suck because they are racist? 3% of the UK is black, that is THREE PER CENT. So, they give 12 awards a year, and if once every eight years or so a black guy wins one, that sounds about right.

Having said all of that… it is really fucking white, isn’t it.
