Today, acclaimed U.K. alternative pop duo Life Of Dillon (Joe Femi and David Keiffer) release their new EP MIA. The eagerly anticipated 4-track offering is their second EP, and is currently available for purchase and streaming at all DSPs via Epic Records/Disruptor Records. Get the EP HERE!
MIA includes their two most recent tracks, the catchy “Only Fools Fall in Love,” which kicked off the summer as a breezy burst of pop chill, and last month’s “American Girl,” a playful confection layered with Latin guitar and taut percussive turns. The EP’s combustible title track, “MIA,” further extends the group’s irresistible repertoire, flaunting Caribbean-inflected falsetto and heightened harmonic dynamics with near Queen-like precision, primping and percolating as it showcases LOD’s elite vocal instincts. The melancholic shimmer of “November Rain” rounds out the EPs sultry patina, a powerful romantic sonnet evocatively capturing a lover’s rainy-day reminiscences, complete with distant thunder effects and a soothing piano outro that caps the EPs impeccable sonic stylings.
Known for creating songs that blend their keen acoustic flair with anthemic electronic flourishes and instantly identifiable hooks, MIA is infused with more vulnerable themes from the innovative duo. Harnessing a multi-cultural vision with a penchant for a mélange of rhythms that reflect Joe’s African roots, they are not afraid to revamp pop frameworks or tap into their varied influences for that crucial spark of inspiration. Playing off each other strengths, their indefinable chemistry is the flashpoint of every Life Of Dillon song. “We’re channeling from real experiences,” says David. “It starts with both of us – me on guitar and Joe singing something true. That’s the way we’ve preferred to create and probably will until we die.”
Close friends, collaborators, and musical confidantes, Joe Femi and David Keiffer have racked up tens of millions of streams since the release of their debut EP, 2015’s Overload. Mixing together sounds from an array of genres from around the world, Joe’s Brazilian-Nigerian background heavily colors their newest material. The band has taken their infectious music to television shows like The Late Late Show With James Corden, garnering critical acclaim from the likes of Teen Vogue, Idolator, BlackBook, Dancing Astronaut and more. Recently relocating from the U.K. to Los Angeles, the duo has also toured North America with the likes of Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, with plans to hit the road later this year and share the songs from their new EP, MIA.
