Home Of The Strange – Young The Giant – I am not a fan of the band but I love the temp switches and the dynamic and explosive outro. Indeed, it took me back to the album, which is better than I first thought, the songs are difficult and not worth the effort but if you give em the effort any way, you might be surprised – B
Do Yoga – Rae Sremmurd – A strange and sweet nursery rhyme whine that is much sweeter than anything else on the army, it is like LMFAO on sudefed and if you don’t find yourself singing the hook you’re a better man than I am – B
My Puram – Pfarmer – Do you think a reading of the lyric would clear up whether they really meant Akam? If the song was any good, I might have found out – C
Nothing Easy to Please – PARTYNEXTDOOR – The space between the beats is a little too long, it gives the entire enterprise a built in tenseness and disquiet… for no clear reason – B-
Chap Pilot – Of Montreal – The back track is awesome drones and beats and sound effects and Kevin Barnes has a Lou Reed-y sing speak tone and there is a silent disco there as well – B
Coroner – Lando Chill – This broke the rapper out of Tucson into a wider world, and it is so astoundingly miserable break up track, rhyming “believing” with “leaving” and for good reason – B+
The Heartbreak – Kelsey Waldon – Man, talk about a bummer. Look, I never thought she was the most cheerful woman in the room but this is so subdued and solemn you wanna slit your wrists… or do I mean hers? – B
Life In The Livin’ – Justin Moore – If you can call this “livin'” – D+
Portugal – Jeff The Brotherhood – Fuzzed out feedback rock drone, “I’m too fucking stoned to know the difference between having a good time and staying home”? I see – C+
