Last Call: Final Songs Off New Albums 4-8-16 – 4-14-16

Snoh-Aalegra

Chaos – Snoh Aalegra – Big bang exert and well too structured to even imply chaos, I love her voice here and the twinge of slde is a nice effect – B

See You – The Ready Set – Impressive ending to a good set of songs, a sort of sad adieu to another girl, but it implies a sort of other wordliness and a hopefulness though it is raining. He uses his falsetto to fine effect, “let the remedies remind you how to smile”. But “nobodies gone forever” he promises – B

Stranger – Peter Wolf – Old lovers meet again, on this lovely goodbye hello – B

Hold Your Hand – Perfume – It sounds like the Powerpuff Girls should be singing it – C+

It’s Gonna Happen – Parquet Courts – SIng the damn thing, you croaking jerk – C-

Sunday Night 1987 – M83 – A lullaby for the ages, just a haunting farewell to the album, very pretty and sad – B

A Lick Of Paint – Frightened Rabbits – Sounds like Americana though I don’t feel as mean as the words sound. Maybe I mean they sound like Mumford And Sons – B-
