Today, singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist powerhouse Josh X shares the official music video for his single “All On Me” featuring Rick Ross. The video premiered earlier today via Complex and can be viewed HERE.
The stylish clip finds the charismatic Josh and always-confident Ross on cruise control as they tranquilly glide their way through nocturnal Miami locales, with Josh even manning a grand piano on a breathtaking Miami beachscape complete with special admirer in tow. Directed by Picture Perfect (Cardi B, French Montana), the video captures the soulful shimmer and sultry throwback vibe that the song evokes, fueled by sumptuous horns over a smooth bass and elevated by Josh’s potent wordplay and Ross’ signature roll.
“I’m getting a chance to showcase musicianship,” Josh X told Complex in speaking on the song. “My whole career as an artist was built on the education and history of music. When’s the last time you heard a record on the radio with live drums, horns, violins and pianos?”
“I’m thankful that Rick Ross, the legend that he is, joined me,” further explained Josh. “I recorded this record in Miami, and there was only one person I could hear on it. I’ll never forget the day Shaft, CEO of KSR Group, called me and was like, ‘check your texts, I sent you something…’ History was made from there!”
Already, “All On Me” and Josh X are captivating fans around the world, with early attention and love from major radio stations like New York’s Hot 97 and Power 105, among others. The track, which was written by Josh and produced by Infamous & The Pushers (Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Kodak Black), is available at all DSPs HERE. Next up, the Queens, NY native is gearing up for the release of his first project for Epic Records later this year in partnership with KSR Group (known for Cardi B, Hoodcelebrityy).
Known in production circles as a go-to collaborator with an A-List musical resume, he’s worked with such notables as Swizz Beatz, Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams (co-founder of Cash Money), and others, co-writing a track for FOX’s hit show Empire, and establishing himself as an early production/songwriting presence in Cardi B’s career. The two collaborated on her 2016 single “Selfish,” as well as his own release, “Heaven On My Mind,” which featured the Bronx siren and climbed the Billboard Adult R&B chart. A graduate of Jiulliard, the prodigy has received mentorship and praise from legends like Bryan McKnight and Stevie Wonder, who declared that Josh “continues to carry out the legacy of being a musician that represents real music.”
Calling “All On Me” ‘an ode to triumph and perseverance,’ Josh X is perfectly positioned for his next breakout moment with the brand new video adding to his formidable swagger.
