Iggy Pop To Headline Foo Fighters’ Cal Jam 18

Iggy Pop

Cal Jam is returning this year after its successful debut last October at Glen Helen Regional Park and Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA. Organized and headlined by the Foo Fighters, the festival received more than 30,000 visitors, and, in 2 days, these people got their dose of rock ‘n’ roll for some time.

Cal Jam 18 will be once again headlined by the Foo who have curated another excellent line up featuring more than 20 bands on four stages this October 5-6, 2018. To kick up the festivities, Friday night will belong to ’80s punk legend Billy Idol, as well as to comedian Bridget Everett, and Mexico City’s Mexrrissey, performing their Spanish-flavored cover songs of the Smiths and Morrissey.

But Saturday, you will be there for an exclusive treat, the iconic Iggy Pop will give an exclusive one-off reunion with the all-star Post Pop Depression band that backed him during his short tour that he played in support of the album of the same name. This means that Queens of The Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, Dean Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen and Arctic Monkeys’ drummer Matt Helders will be there!

In addition to this goodness, you will be able to see Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, Garbage, Greta Van Fleet, Silversun Pickups, Manchester Orchestra, Krist Novoselic’s new band Giant In The Trees, UK’s Slaves, Gang of Youths, Black Mountain and many more. Of course, the Foo Fighters will probably have more surprise guests as last year, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Rick Astley, Dave Koz, Liam Gallagher joined them on stage.

Just like last year, ticket holders will be able to enjoy the free carnival rides (although it was difficult to find any time to do so last year), the Rock-N-Roll museum, a pop up record shop and a hillside full of flappy guys, whatever this means, and obviously a large variety of food trucks, traditional festival food, beers….

If you camp over there for the total Cal Jam experience, a new Friday Night Comedy Tent, curated by comedian Tim Hanlon (aka Dave’s cousin), will entertain you as well as outdoor midnight movies and access to the water park

Cal Jam will be only $99 (plus taxes and fees) for one day GA, and this year, Saturday ticket holders have the option to buy a Friday night ticket for $30 (plus taxes and fees). All camping packages include free entrance to the Friday night Party. Tickets and camping packages go on sale this Thursday, May 17th at 10AM PST.

Believe it or not but the unstoppable Foo Fighters have been touring all over the world since last Cal Jam, and will be touting till (and Beyond) Cal Jam 18
