Happy Sundays Is Happening In Long Beach This Sunday

Death Valley Girls

I have barely recovered from Echo Park Rising, that another similar event is pointing its nose… HAPPY SUNDAYS is happening in Long Beach this Sunday in an effort to support local business, art, music and the community of Long Beach’s historic Zaferia District. The festival, which is completely free, will last an entire day and will take place along a 1.5 mile stretch of Anaheim Street.

As usual, the lineup includes many bands, including noticeable and familiar acts such as Jake Snider of Minus the Bear, the Shrine, Audacity, Draemings, The Paranoyds, Holy Wars, Death Valley Girls and Caught a Ghost among many other bands, playing in no less than 8 different venues, including Los Altos Plaza Park, Red Leprechaun, Alex’s Bar, Urban Americana, Iguana Kelly’s, Long Beach Playhouse, DiPiazza’s and Analog Records.

Created by Scott and Julia Montoya, the festival is now on its third installment, and went from a laidback Sunday event into a fully sponsored one-day festival ,with free music, art and comedy.

Of course, choices will be difficult one more time, because some of these different venues are located far apart, and if you want to catch Holy Wars at Alex’s Bar around 7 pm and then see Caught a Ghost at DiPiazza’s at 8:30, you will have to walk for more than a mile!

Next Sunday, another neighborhood is getting on fire with music, do not miss it, even if you will have to prepare your walking shoes, unless you prefer to stick with the very satisfying lineup inside Alex’s Bar. Here are all the details:
