Goldenvoice Announces Cruel World Festival Headlined by Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie And Devo

Goldenvoice Announces Cruel World

The ’80s are back, you probably didn’t get the news, but according to the lineup that Goldenvoice dropped today, it is 1985 again. Cruel World, a brand new festival, will be taking place Saturday, May 2 at The Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California, and this one-day-only event will feature performances by an incredible amount of ’80s superstars from Morrissey to Bauhaus, Blondie, Devo, The Psychedelic Furs, Echo & The Bunnymen, Violent Femmes, the Church, English Beat, Public Image LTD., Gary Numan, Marc Almond and many more. It’s basically a follow up to last year’s Pasadena Daydream festival headlined by the Cure, it’s the same goth vibe with many more acts, and I wonder whether they will be able to fit all these bands on just 2 stages? It seems to be an even larger and more ambitious event. Did Goldenvoice take some risks by booking the always controversial Morrissey as the headliner? It depends on whom you ask!
