Wrong – A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Mob – Every mother and his A$AP working on a terrific sample but too little use on this disappointing free for all with one an obvious echo hook – C+

Second One To Know – Chris Stapleton – Basic blues boogie ala Lynrd Skyrnd – C

I’m The One – DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper, Lil Wayne – a who’s who of many pop and Justin steals it from under Chance’s nose, at this rate it is not possible to mistake the pop giant as a kid getting lucky. quite the opposite, his instincts are infallible and he adds a hip star power to everything he touches – SINGLE OF THE WEEK -B+

Young And Menace – Fall Out Boy – a quasi experimental rock and dance rummage soul that doesn’t click – C

Lens – Frank Ocean – What’s with all the autotune? – C+

Most Girls – Hailee Steinfeld – Dreadful electropop girl power crap. I bet Posh Spice is rolling over in her grave – C

Thunder – Imagine Dragon – A typically heavy handed rock and drums electro kick , a a little more, the bridge is kitschy and catchy and it adds up nicely –  B

Bon Appetite – Katy Perry, Migos – This took awhile to click but stick to it and the trap beat will snap shut on you, Katy sounds like the new non-descript Katy -I mean, it counld be Britney or Ellie -you’d never know. But those beats are very good, like a tinny bICKERongo – B

First Time – Kygo ,Ellie Goulding – Kygo is irritating even by EDM standards, this song is nothing much inly ho hum without the hum – C

Feel About You – Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie – A great singer and a great songwriter, two powerhouses from Fleetwood mac who have never performed as a duet before, and this twee pop business is all they have to offer? It sounds like it should be great and yet it just isn’t there. Maybe the album has some stronger material – C

Phases – Majid Jordan  – Nothing much by a duo who were on the verge of big stuff with Drake (on Drake’s best song), but couldn’t do a damn thing on their own album, that hook gets on my tits – C

No Vacancy – OneRepublic – The most overrated songwriter on the planet with a truly lame dance track – C-

J-Boy – Phoenix –  the reason we don’t have one hit wonders anymore is because simply by being known at all bands have traction in a marketplace this crowded – C

Electric Intercourse – Prince – There is a reason this didn’t make it onto Purple Rain: it sucks – C

Gwan – Rostam – He is a talented fellow no doubt, but his pop instincts suck which is why he was tailor made for Vampire Weekend. Now, we have lost him on VE (which will make them a lot less interesting) and we have lost him to pop, where his music isn’t audience friendly. This is both tntalized indie pop and bland at the same time – C+

Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours) – Rufus wainwright – My phone is no longer on vibrate for him, this is a draggy mess of a cover and Rufus goes from weakness to weakness – D

Love Galore – SZA, Travis Scott – Nothing much trap ballad from a talented woman – C+

All I Want  –  Ride – Shoegaze mavens shoulda stayed away, this is nothing much MFVy been there – C+

Thinking Of A Place – The War On Drugs – Kinda shoegazy as well and it starts off beyond lame, but once the guitar kicks in it is a depressing little beauty – B
