Hey (I Miss You) – Armin van Buuren, Simon Ward – trance meets EDM pop circa 2017 on a winner – B+

EDGING – blink-182 – with the return of Tom DeLonge, Blink-182 are even more overrated than usual with this nothing very much pop punk self portrait – C

Whipp’n It Slowly – French Montana -a Roberta Flack cover with a French Montana verse here and there – C

October Passed Me By – Girl In Red – the sequel to Girl In Red’s 2021 breakthrough “We Fell In Love In October” featuring Aaron Dessner -I know, I don’t get why all these state of the art female performers are jumping at Aaron and Jack – B-

Sunbeam – Gertrudus – three members of Rockford, including drummer and rocknyc alumni Edward Huerta get together for a power pop rock track with some howling guitar (here) – B+

Gucci Flow – Gucci Mane, Finesse2tymes – Gucci has been dropping singles so let’s hope he is setting up a new able, great flow and trap 101 – B-

TRUCK BED – HARDY – Morgan Wallen’s buddy with his third excellent country rocker this year – B+

Words and Guitar – Sleater-Kinney, Courtney Barnett – this is the goods, Courtney is playful and the beat is really good – A-

Hide & Seek – Stormzy – the London rapper was great at Global Citizen last month, this is a trap track that doesn’t quite pull it off – B-

Tomorrow Never Knows – Take 1 – The Beatles – Revolver is the second best Beatles album of all time (A Hard Day’s Night beats it out… and not by much), Take 1 of “Tomorrow Never Knows” has the vocals about right even as they fiddle with the backing tracks electronic drugginess, they could have used this take and not missed much and we are more excited for the deluxe Revolver than we were for the Pepper‘s – A+
