Did Limp Bizkit Play A 4/20 Secret Show In Dayton? No, But Thousands Believed So!

Signs posted on the window of the Sunoco gas station

The internet is a powerful and dangerous tool, things can go out of control very fast, we have heard of people getting fired for a line tweeted a bit too fast but what about a big fake concert ages station to celebrate 4/20?

Brian Baker fooled thousands of people after creating a Facebook event called ‘Limp Bizkit To Play 4/20 Secret Show/Party with us at the Sunoco in Dayton on 4/20’

We are talking about Dayton Ohio, and we are talking about Sunoco, a gas station. Why on earth a 90’s rap-metal band would be playing at a gas station in the middle of Ohio? Don’t ask me, it sounds like a totally un-hipster venue (or may be it is very hip) but according to different media outlets, many people believed it was true and were ready to attend the gig. According to the Daily Beast, 9,000 people camp out at the Sunoco, and this after repeated tweets from Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst himself, declaring it was not true. Someone even made a very cheesy trailer for the event on YouTube (because why not?), some idiots even posted the t-shirts they are selling for the event (only $20, that’s a real deal) and of course, someone printed these very realistic tickets, but we all know how easy it is.

‘I made the event for 2017—and then the people decided that they want it now, If they decide to show up tonight, that’s up to Fred and Limp Bizkit,’ declared Baker to the Daily Beast.

The police had to step in and released statements like ‘BE AWARE: There is NO Limp Bizkit concert Wed. 4/20 at Sunoco station at Keowee St. & Wayne Ave. These ads FALSE.’

But many people continued to believe the rumor throughout the day, tring very hard to find proof, and these ads on Craigslist.pretending to sell tickets for the event, didn’t help. This really did go out of control. This was found on Twitter, but at this point I have no idea if this is legit:

‘The woman working behind the counter saw me taking the photo with my phone and asked me to please post it on social media and spread the word. She said it had been a crazy day, and that they had needed to unplug their phone because so many people were calling in to ask about the concert and request VIP tickets’

What does it say about Limp Bizkit fans? May be I could start a rumor on Facebook that Beyonce is planning a concert on the parking lot of Goodwill on Hollywood & Sunset? After all she has already teamed up with the store before so that would be totally credible.
