Daisy Jopling And A Night At The Pyramids… In New York

On November 4, 2022, Daisy Jopling performed an extraordinary concert at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. After collaborating with some of Egypt’s most legendary musicians, Daisy created a show that has been described in Egypt Today as “a dazzling, powerful fusion of Western and Middle Eastern music. This spectacular concert was a memorable and beautiful experience that left no-one untouched.”

There will be a recreation of the pyramids concert at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 8pm.

This event will showcase the Daisy Jopling Band collaborating with extraordinary Middle Eastern musicians playing instruments of their culture… and… include performances from over 50 grade school choral students from the Peekskill Schools joined by the Ovation Strings students.

Eleven years ago, Daisy, her husband Joe, and local Hudson Valley arts lovers formed the Daisy Jopling Music Mentorship Foundation (DJMMF) as a way to support music education for grade school students. The DJMMF has now given free music programs including workshops, performances, lessons and mentorships to nearly 7,000 students. It began in the Peekskill School District since they did not have a string music program at the time.

With the Foundation’s support,  the school district programs have grown and provided musical instruments, education and enlightenment for hundreds of young people.  Many of these students have had the opportunity to perform live on stage with Daisy, her band and other world-class artistic mentors as part of Daisy’s concerts on stages such as the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, Lincoln Center and Bannerman Island.  Many students have told Daisy and their teachers that these experiences have transformed their lives.  Their involvement in music has had a positive effect on their overall studies and their grades have improved. It has also had an impact on them socially as they learn to work together and perform.
