This is what happens when you live in Los Angeles, you get totally spoiled by events like this upcoming one: Imagine Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Beck…. I am already smiling, plus Regina Spektor, Jacok Dylan, Jade of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at once, and honestly it sounds like candies for my ears. They are all going to perform and duet with each other during a unique concert ‘Echo in the Canyon’, covering famous songs from The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, The Mama & The Papas, Love, The Association and other 60’s acts, to celebrate Southern California folk rock’s 50th anniversary. California artists celebrating California artists of the 60’s… It’s like oldie radio station K-Earth 101 taking flesh, Isn’t life great? But why this year? The show will take place on October 12th, at the Orpheum theater, downtown Los Angeles, and the tickets will be on sale this Friday, October 2nd at 10 am PT via Ticketmaster. Ticket prices will range between $55.00 – $99.00 plus additional fees, but I am ready to bet that these tickets will disappear fast and will be resold on Craiglist for three times the amount a week later. However, if you cannot make it for the show, there will be an album released next spring… And you can right now listen to Cat Power and Jakob Dylan’s beautiful and solemn rendition of the Turtles’ ‘You Showed Me’:
