We’ve been trying to convince Soho Johnny to post his talk show Soho At Night (here) on rock nyc, a natural fit, right? Till then, here is a true brush with greatness, Soho and Leland Sklarr.
You know bassist Sklarr from his work as a session musician, a part of David Geffen’s Asylum Records in the 1970s -the label that all but invented yacht rock.
Sklarr can be heard on sessions from the likes of Carole King, Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne and with the Asylum Records house band The Section he released three instrumental albums. The list of albums he has appeared on ranges from David Cassidy and Gene Clark in the early 1970s to that long line of James Taylor smash albums from the 1970s through the 1980s, to Joanna Newsom in the 00s to Irish singer songwriter (married to the great Harry Shearer) Judith Owens just last year.
