Press Release
I’m very excited to release the label’s first batch adhering to a consistent theme. Bridgetown releases #126-128 are all centered around the piano being the sole instrument for composition. Each of the three artists utilizes a different set of approaches, techniques, processing and playing style to develop an album that has a unique character. From the grandiose and emotive chords of Danny DeLeon to the delayed sparkle of Naps’ electric to Theodore Schafer’s spacious shaping of acoustic piano, this batch accurately captures the adaptive nature of musicians operating in far-flung geographic regions of the U.S. DIY experimental world. ‣ 2016 Summer Piano Music Batch: ‣ listen at www.bridgetownrecords.info The batch will also be informally released at a show I’ve put together at my favorite remaining space for shows in Los Angeles, Pehrspace. After 10 years of experimental and underground music, it too will be gone in 6 weeks so The Real Creatives can have another minimal luxury condo space to choose from. Alas, the possibilities are endless in downtown LA . . . ‣ July 2nd @ Pehrspace, 325 Glendale Blvd. / 9 PM / $5 Up next, expect several releases from myself and some possible touring in the classic, comprehensive style. All suggestions, ideas and other communication welcome. |
