Breaking Up Is Hard To Do: Famous Pop Stars Final Tours

Every single musician who ever lived will have a final concert, but not everyone has had a farewell tour…

Buddy Guy – the one time I saw him he was the WOAT!

Dead & Company – no way are these guys hanging up their guitars, I bet they never end

Eagles – we are getting pulmetted by global warming and still hell is freezing over as the band go on yet another farewell tour! Don has promised (threatened) to keep on adding days at a venue residency til audiences are satiated

Elton John – and why not have a farewell tour if you gonna gross a billion dollars.

Jay- Z – faded to black in the early 00s but came back soon enough

KISS – yet another last concert? It’s what they do… KISS are a New York group and what’s more from the borough of Queens, and they are ending 50 years.

Motley Crue – yes, again… I saw em at Citi Field last year and they were abysmal..

Ozzy Osbourne – the other side of retirement finds the Black Sabbath singer too ill to complete his farewell tour

Paul Simon – I saw his penultimate concert at MSG and while he released an album this year he has remained true to his no touring

Peter Frampton – he suffers from inclusion body myositis in a degenerative muscle disease and after retiring he is back on tour this year. We will see…

Phil Collins – a drummer who can no longer drum… a bummer, right. Reminds me a little of the time I went to see Oscar Peterson at Carnegie Hall towards the end of his career, one of his hands was partially paralyzed and he still sounded great.

The Allman Brothers Band – i saw their penultimate performance at the Beacon… and then Greg died.

The B-52’s – one of the great new wave bands says farewell

The Beatles – that would be on the roof at Apple Records on Saville road

The Monkees – an ultimate farewell tour, a month after I caught it (here) Mike was gone and that only leaves Micky Dolenz

The Who – the last (final?) album was the first rate WHO, but what does that matter? They are a nostalgia act. And they keep on retiring…
