Bikini Kill’s Tobi Vail Doesn’t Think Hillary Clinton Is A ‘Rebel Girl’

Tobi Vail

We know that Hillary wants to look like a riot grrrl, a radical feminist that she really isn’t, and the use of Bikini Kill’s classic song ‘Rebel Girl’ over a video for her campaign was all about this. It is not clear if it was a ‘fan video’, re-tweeted by Clinton’s campaign chair John Podesta, or a real creation of the Clinton campaign designed to appeal to ignorant millennials and beyond, but at the end it does not matter. Hillary wanted to be your rebel girl.

The video used to circulate on the Internet, but no more! According to Death and Taxes, Bikini Kill founding member Tobi Vail put an end to it with a prompt copyright infringement notice. If you search for it on YouTube you will know what I am talking about. Vail was not happy and to make everyone aware of her political views she has now added to her Twitter account ‘I’m voting for Bernie Sanders’… clear enough for you?

Because I certainly hear revolution when Hillary speaks! If anyone embodies the rebellion the girls from Bikini Kills are singing about in the song, it’s certainly not her! ‘When she talks I hear the revolution/In her hips there’s revolution/Where she walks the revolution’s coming/In her kiss I taste the revolution’. Do you see Hillary? What a joke!  If you only read her Wikipedia page you will learn that she has served on the board of directors of Wal-Mart, one of the worst corporations you can find, and a review of her 2014 tax return, posted on her website, shows that she asked for a minimum fee of $225,000 per speech… This is a woman who said she did not think that she had ever accepted money from the oil and gas industries, when in reality, Clinton’s biggest campaign bundlers are fossil fuel lobbyists, as the Huffington Post reported earlier this year. And this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes of Clinton’s deep ties with corporations.

Vail has used her Twitter account to promote her support to Sanders and discredit the Clintons, and Death and Taxes also emailed Vail, who answered the following: ‘Dude, I was seriously trying to just ignore it (because I’m not so into telling people what to do and that song has a life of its own and I’m just one person in the group Etc Etc ) but Bikini Kill fans and friends would not allow it. Since it’s basically an advertisement I just contacted YouTube and told them to contact Terror Bird Media who represent us for licensing. But we don’t authorize use of our songs in advertisements so…this should be the end of it, I hope! It’s funny that it says my name, I must have done something wrong when I filled out the form, ha.’

No more riot grrrl power for Hillary, but people get so confused about this, are they automatically assuming feminists are gonna vote for Hillary because she is a woman? Whoever made this video was actually having this ultra simplistic reasoning, and this person should be ashamed of him/herself.
